Description
Butter Skull: Fluoro continues the series’ exploration of beauty and decay – merging the natural symmetry and delicacy of a butterfly with the unmistakable darkness of a human skull.
Built around an unapologetically fluorescent palette, hot pink and red bleed into orange and yellow before moving through vivid green to cyan across the lower wings. Heavy black markings cut through the colour, simultaneously defining the butterfly and revealing the skull within it.
Under UV light, the fluorescent pigments intensify dramatically, giving the colour an illuminated quality and changing the atmosphere of the work after dark.
Hand-cut and spray-painted using conventional and UV-reactive Montana paints on a 60 × 60 cm deep-edge canvas.
Original artwork. 60 × 60 cm. Hand sprayed, signed and unique.
